The Publisher's Note
Every meaningful endeavor begins somewhere. Or, more truly, it begins with something solid beneath it — a foundation. And what could be a stronger foundation than the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ? Whatever is built upon this Rock carries the quiet certainty of the Psalmist's words: "This is the Lord's doing."
With that conviction, we are launching Axios Books, a new Orthodox Christian publishing and media project born out of a desire to think, create, and share what really matters. It felt right to begin with a book centered on Christ Himself — not only as our Lord and Savior, but as our Teacher, whose words continue to challenge, inspire, and renew.
In one way or another, we are all still learning in His school, still finding our place in His house — the House of Jesus. Our hope is that this first book will open a door to deeper understanding and help readers see familiar things from a new perspective.
The name Axios comes from the Greek word for "worthy." It's a word we hear in the Orthodox Church every time the people affirm a new servant of God. We chose it because we want our work to be worthy — of the subjects we explore, of our readers' attention, and of the trust that any honest conversation about faith and meaning requires.
May this book be a good beginning. And as we set out, we thank you for walking with us.
